Vise Bases

The vise is pretty well made for the price. I didn't see much movement in it at all. I use it for milling and it hasn't failed me yet.

A really nice small vise that is very tight and well made. I will be using this to hold small parts at various odd angles in a larger milling vise. And for this use the compact size makes it ideal. Checking the jaws with a dial gauge showed very slight non straightness in the range of 0.001 inch or 0.025mm. Not at all a deal breaker but I may stone them to suit myself. For what it is intended for to hold raw blocks of metal for CNC operations it's a total non issue. Fit of the jaws in their unique "thread form" ways is excellent. One jaw with a smooth movement requires a light pressure from one finger to move it due to the fit. The other jaw was slightly stiffer. With that sort of fit there's zero play or jaw lift. A set of tapped holes on the lower side of the main body would permit it to be mounted to other items such as flat plates or angle brackets. Or for the "tombstone" sometimes used for CNC operations. That's not my goal but it will come in handy for mounting to an angle plate if needed. All in all very good value for the money.

Bought a H54 8-88L(tall jaws) but Amazon shipped the H90 10-100(low jaws). I would have been very happy with that except I needed the tall jaws and if I would have ordered the tall jaws separately I would have ended up at the same price as ordering the larger vise with tall jaws to begin with. The seller made it right by sending me the tall jaws for free so it was a good solution in the end. Just needed to make by with the low jaws in the meantime.

Probably not really it's intended use, but I've been using it to clamp down small stones while I drill holes though them. My normal vise is a bit to beat up and strong to use and I don't want to break whatever I'm working on. I can control the amount of force used with this small one tho. I've actually put this vise in my larger vise a few times lol. It's very accurate and easy to use. The price seems ridiculous but average for what it is.
