What is a modular fixturing system, and what is it used for?
·A modular fixturing system is a flexible setup that enables rapid machine tool response to diverse and complex machining tasks through the quick assembly of fixture components, drastically reducing downtime for setup. It is most practical for machining small-batch, high-variety parts.
·This approach moves away from the traditional "one machine, one fixture" model. Instead, a single system supports all tooling fixtures, transforming the workflow into an "offline preparation, online machining" process. It turns a five-axis machine tool from an isolated piece of equipment into a responsive, high-output, and stable precision manufacturing center.

The five-axis riser/pyramid mount, in addition to allowing direct mounting of 96mm or 52mm chucks and replacing various fixtures to enhance the flexibility of five-axis machining, also increases the height, effectively expanding the Z-axis working space of the machine tool and solving interference problems between the tool holder/spindle and the workpiece fixture. |
